Studio 8 Christmas and New Year break...

Studio 8 will have a Christmas and New Year break during 2 weeks so there will be no classes on the 26th of December and 2nd of January.

Salsa Classes will resume on the 9th of January 2012 at Sirens!

Shine routine (25/Sep/2011)...

New schedule starting this Monday 3rd of October!

Salsa Studio 8 classes are moving from Sundays to Mondays starting next week on the 3rd of October. Next Sunday (2nd of October) classes are thus cancelled. Below is the new schedule for Salsa Studio 8 classes on Mondays:

6.30-7.30 pm - Beginners

7.30-7.45 pm - Social dance

7.45-8.15 pm - Shine

8.15-8.30 pm - Social dance

8.30-9.30 pm - Intermediate

New Shine classes starting this Sunday 14th of August!

Salsa Studio 8 is starting new Shine classes for both Beginners and Intermediate this Sunday 14th of August!

Salsa Shine (or solo work) will help you understand and interpret music and develop not only posture, balance and confidence, but also body expression, musicality and coreographic memory. Shine classes will also allow you to improve your footwork and styling to be used in solo and partner dancing.

Shine classes will run for 30 minutes starting at 7.15pm this Sunday at Sirens restaurant.

Salsa Studio 8 classes restart this weekend 9-10th of July

Salsa Studio 8 classes restart 1.30pm this Saturday the 9th of July at the UniGym and at 6pm on Sunday the 10th of July at Sirens restaurant. Having returned from Portugal where we shared our love of Salsa with many excited enthusiasts by attending workshops with world renowned Salsa entities, we are excited to share our new material and growing enthusiasm. No Salsa Studio 8 classes from the 24th of April to the 29th of May...

Salsa Studio 8 classes will be cancelled from the 24th of April to the 29th of May... We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Studio 8 will be returning to it's origins in Portugal to upgrade it's Salsa knowledge and technique and will come back with a range of new moves and concepts in Salsa dancing in June. Studio 8 hopes that you continue dancing so amazingly as you have been so far and to see you all again in June.

Salsa classes at the UniGym have a new timetable!

Salsa Studio 8 classes at the UniGym have now a new timetable from April 11th to May 29th. Thursdays 5pm Salsa classes have been removed from the UniGym timetable. Saturdays 1.30pm classes are still on and now have a different approach. These Saturdays 1.5 hour classes will now integrate both solo (shine) and partner dancing.

No more Salsa Studio 8 classes on Saturdays in Lindisfarne!

Salsa Studio 8 classes are terminated on Saturdays in Lindisfarne. Saturday Salsa Studio 8 classes are now at the UTas UniGym in Sandy Bay, Hobart. For more information please check the UniGym timetable or contact the UniGym.

Salsa Studio 8 is now at the UTas UniGym!!!

The schedule is as below (until 10th of April):

Thursdays:

- Class starts at 5pm and runs for 45 minutes. In this class we will be doing shine routines after warming up exercises.

Saturdays:- Class starts at 1.30pm and runs for 90 minutes. Partner dance will be the main focus of this class.

You don't need a partner to join in so come along to the UniGym and have a great time dancing Salsa!

There won't be any Salsa Studio 8 classes this weekend 5th and 6th of February. Also, there will be another interruption on the 12th of February (Saturday). Salsa classes are back!

After a quiet and enjoyable Christmas and New Year's Eve, Salsa Studio 8 classes are back and ready to go. This year 2011, Salsa Studio 8 will have not only Salsa ("on 1") classes, but also latin Cha Cha, and Salsa "on 2". All this with brand new Salsa songs and rhytms! Also, Salsa Studio 8 will introduce Merengue and a few african dance styles after Salsa classes or during the social dance. Come along and try all these different dance styles and have lots of great moments!
